Kaikoura Emergency Access Road
The Kaikoura emergency access road is now closed to all vehicles.
Previously open for emergency and critical support services only, the road controlled by the Controller of Civil Defence Emergency Management Canterbury is closed until further notice due to dangerous conditions. Air and sea supply routes remain open as weather conditions permit.
We will communicate again as soon as we are sure any access is safe.
