HMNZS Canterbury will leave Kaikoura
HMNZS Canterbury will leave Kaikoura for Lyttelton on Saturday afternoon (19 November). It is evacuating a further 100 tourists, together with 60 residents, and is expected to arrive at Lyttelton late Saturday night. This will bring the total evacuated from Kaikoura to almost 900 people since Monday (14 November).
Similar preparations are being made to receive them as occurred when the first group arrived on HMNZS Canterbury earlier this week.
After delivering the passengers, HMNZS Canterbury will load more supplies and will return to Kaikoura, probably on Sunday.
