20 November 2016
MEDIA ADVISORY
A military convoy through the Kaikoura Emergency Access Route (inland route) is now carrying essential supplies to Kaikoura.
The Canterbury Civil Defence Group has given authorisation for the military to use the Kaikoura Emergency Access Route.
The convoy will take approximately three hours. The road remains closed to the public.
The road is still closed because ongoing surveys have found significant risk of landslip and due to the works required to make the road safe.
