Vodafone media update @10:00 AM re northland power outage
VODAFONE MEDIA UPDATE #1: 10:00 AM
Due to a widespread power outage in the Upper North Island, a number of Vodafone cell sites are currently without power.
Customers in the following areas may experience degraded mobile service: Ahipara. Kaikohe, Kaitaia, Paihia, Rawene, Hokianga, Awanui, Kaeo, Maungataniwha, Okaihau, Omapere, Opua, Russell, Tauranga Bay, Whangaroa.
Our technicians are currently assessing each of the sites as most have switched over to battery power. The team is currently deploying generators to a number of cell sites in order to restore service as a matter of urgency. We don’t yet have an ETA for each of these, but will keep you updated as sites come back online.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Our team, and the team from Transpower NZ are working to restore services as quickly as possible.
