Sunday Patrol data 4/3/18

Surf Life Saving Northern Region management is deeply saddened by the tragic deaths at Pakiri and Goat Island and wishes to express its condolences to the families and friends of the two people who drowned.

At the patrolled beaches there were a number of rescues and assists: Bethells Beach - two rescues and four major first aid interventions; Mangawhai Heads one rescue and two assists along with a major first aid and two minor first aid treatments; at Raglan, a late in-water search saw a person located and safely returned to shore. East coast conditions were very rough and Whangarei Heads closed its beach for two hours at the start of today.
