CEO to leave Auckland Foundation

25 September 2018

Auckland Foundation’s CEO, Dellwyn Stuart, is leaving the Foundation on 1 December to take up the role of CEO with the YWCA Auckland.

Dellwyn has led the Foundation through a period of considerable change and development, which has raised Auckland Foundation’s profile and created a strong base from which the Foundation can continue to grow and effectively impact Auckland’s communities.

During her time with the Foundation Dellwyn has demonstrated a passion and energy for women’s and girls’ issues, which culminated in the establishment of Auckland Foundation’s Women’s Fund last year.

Dellwyn acknowledges the significant change the Foundation has undergone during her leadership and says:

“I am sorry not to be continuing the great work we are doing. The Foundation has an amazing team, an engaged Board and new Chair and I know it will go from strength to strength. I am fortunate to remain connected with the Foundation as the Chair of the Women’s Fund Advisory Board and will be committed to continuing the great work we have begun. It has been a very difficult decision to leave, but I am drawn to the special opportunity the YWCA role will provide for me to further my passion to help drive gender equality and improve the lives of women and girls.”

Chair of Auckland Foundation Joy Marslin acknowledges the tremendous contribution Dellwyn has made.

“Dellwyn has been a strong, strategic leader who has the respect of her Board and stakeholders. We are sorry she is not able to continue with us as we grow, but respect her decision and thank her for leaving the Foundation in great shape for a new CEO. The recruitment process is now underway. I expect it will be a very attractive opportunity for a strong thought leader, interested in advancing a community foundation and growing our base of passionate, generous donors.”

“Our priority is a smooth transition for all our supporters and stakeholders to ensure we are well positioned for a strong start to 2019. We are extremely fortunate to have a dedicated and capable team at Auckland Foundation who manage the business to the highest standards and never lose sight of the community and donors they serve.”

“We wish Dellwyn our very best for her new role.”
