Federal Street ‘Get Your Green On’ St Patrick’s Day event cancelled
In light of the tragic incidents that have occurred in Christchurch today, the decision has been made to cancel the Federal Street ‘Get Your Green On’ St Patrick’s Day event.
After discussion with the St Patrick’s Festival trust, the event planned for tomorrow, 16 March, has been cancelled as a sign of respect for all of those affected.
Tonight, and for the rest of the weekend, the Sky Tower’s lights will be turned off, to acknowledge the pain felt across New Zealand at this time.
There will be a further update from the St Patrick’s Festival Trust tomorrow regarding the St Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday.
