Appeal for kind hearted volunteers
Every week in New Zealand 12 babies are
born with a congenital heart defect. It is the number 1
cause of death in babies and infants, and there is no known
cure. Being born with a heart defect does not
discriminate. It can affect any child from every walk of
life.
Heart Kids supports families as they manage the challenges that come with having a heart child. The charity receives no Government funding and relies on donations and grants.
On June 3, 2019 Heart Kids launches its National Awareness Week. Heart Kids is looking for kind hearted, willing volunteers to help with the annual street appeal.
The appeal takes place on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 June across New Zealand. The money raised will go towards providing support to thousands of families around the country.
