Emergency services are at the scene of a serious two-car crash on the Clinton Highway (SH1), near Waiwera South.
Police were called about 5.05pm.
Initial reports suggest one person has been seriously injured.
The road is closed, with diversions in place, and motorists should avoid the area if possible.
