Change To Mata Loop Restrictions
From today restriction times on the Mata Loop have changed.
Between 3am and 7am the loop will be open to heavy vehicles only – with the exception of emergency services which have 24-hour access.
Outside of this four-hour window Mata Loop is open to all other traffic, including heavy vehicles, except for at the 3.3km mark on Ihungia Road as this can only carry a 16-tonne load.
State Highway 35 is open to traffic between Tokomaru Bay and Te Puia Springs between the hours of 7am and 7pm each day. Outside those times the road will be closed with manned checkpoints in place for up to two weeks.
