Smells Like Trouble
A man has been arrested after Police located bags of stolen perfume inside his vehicle during a routine stop.
Police on patrol in Clover Park stopped a vehicle travelling down Israel Avenue and recognised the driver as a wanted man.
Counties Manukau East Area Prevention Manager, Inspector Rakana Cook, says officers immediately invoked a search of the vehicle.
“Our staff have discovered several bags of stolen perfumes inside the vehicle.”
He says the man is now facing a raft of shoplifting charges.
“It’s pleasing we were able to recover some of the items stolen from these businesses.
“This is a great outcome from our staff and is another example of the work going into targeting recidivist retail crime offenders.”
A 34-year-old man will appear in Manukau District Court today facing 17 charges of shoplifting and one of theft.
