SH1 Closure Near Dunedin After Serious Crash
A serious vehicle crash has resulted in the closure of State Highway 1 near Dunedin.
Emergency services are at the scene of the crash, close to Allanton, that occurred about 1.30pm. The road closure is in place between Riccarton Road East and State Highway 86.
Motorists should expect delays and should avoid the area if possible. The detour for southbound traffic is right onto Riccarton Road East, left onto State Highway 87, left onto Allanton Road, left onto State Highway 86 and back onto State Highway 1.
The road is expected to be closed for several hours, and an update will be provided when the situations changes.
