Road Closures For Rahu Saddle Culvert Replacement

State Highway 7 between Reefton and Springs Junction (Rahu Saddle) is due to close at times next week while culvert replacement work is carried out.
Weather dependent, the closure is due to be in effect on Tuesday 4 November between 8am and 4pm, and on Wednesday 5 November between 8am and 12pm.
In addition, the road will close on Wednesday 5 November between 1pm and 5pm and reopen every hour to allow queued traffic through the site.
During these closures, the detour will be via State Highways 65, 6 and 69. This detour will add approximately 90 minutes to peoples’ journey time.
Various temporary traffic management will be in place on Thursday 6 November between 8am and 4pm. On this day, people can expect delays of up to 30 minutes.
We thank people for their patience while this necessary work is carried out. If the work is postponed due to weather, we will provide notice of the change.
