UPDATE: 3.30pm – Northern Motorway Cleared After Crash
Christchurch Northern Motorway/State Highway 1 is fully reopened after a vehicle crash closed northbound lanes.
The vehicle involved and debris have been cleared, and traffic is flowing freely again. People should still take care travelling through the area.
3pm – Delays due to SH1 lane closure
Road users are being advised to expect delays on the Christchurch Northern Motorway/State Highway 1 this afternoon after a vehicle crash.
A section of the motorway, before the Tram Road off ramp, was initially down to one northbound lane after emergency services closed down two lanes. A second lane has since reopened. Debris from the crash also needs to be cleared.
