Strong Winds May Impact Auckland Harbour Bridge Overnight
Strong winds may impact road users travelling over the Auckland Harbour Bridge between 10pm tonight and 7am tomorrow, Thursday 4 December.
Wind gusts could reach 90km/h tonight between 10pm and midnight. From midnight to 7am tomorrow (Thursday) there’s a risk of gusts of 90-100km/h, which may result in temporary closure of all lanes on the bridge.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and pay attention to electronic message boards on the motorway, which will advise if any lane closures and reduced speed limits are required.
If there is potential for sudden and high wind gusts on the bridge, lowering the speed limit gives motorists time to react and take more care.
