Evacuation Following Item Of Concern Located, Hāwera - Central
Police are in attendance at an address in Quin Crescent, Hāwera, and residents have been evacuated, after an item of concern was found on the property this afternoon.
Police were called to the incident around 2.10pm.
Cordons are in place at the Rimu Street and Clement Street intersection, and at the Rod Syme Place and Rata Street intersection.
The New Zealand Defence Force Explosive Ordnance Disposal team have been advised.
Members of the public that have been evacuated are advised to head to TSB Hub, Camberwell Road, Hāwera for shelter and a place to rest.
