2026 Claymark Hauraki Coromandel Business Awards: Save The Date And Join Us In Showcasing Business Brilliance

For more than half a century, the Thames Mill has stood as a familiar landmark - first established in the 1950s and later becoming part of the Claymark family in 2010. Over the years it has grown into a key employer in the region, now home to over 100 dedicated staff who help drive Claymark’s vision of producing worldclass timber products.

Claymark’s commitment to innovation runs deep. Through ongoing investment in research, development and new technology, the company has built some of New Zealand’s most advanced timber treatment and remanufacturing plants - Thames included. Yet while Claymark is proud of its global reach, its heart remains firmly rooted in the communities where its people live and work.

This connection to people is what sparked Claymark’s decision to step forward as the naming sponsor of the HaurakiCoromandel Business Awards. As one of the region’s major employers, Claymark understands the importance of supporting not only its own workforce but the wider business community that helps the Thames-Coromandel and Hauraki Districts thrive. The wellbeing of local families, contractors, suppliers and other businesses matters deeply to the company, and the awards offered a meaningful way to give back.

For Claymark, becoming the naming sponsor was a natural extension of its values. The partnership aligns with the company’s aspirations for growth and collaboration. By championing the awards, Claymark hopes to celebrate the achievements of other local businesses, shine a light on our local talent and acknowledge the shared effort that strengthens the HaurakiCoromandel economy.

In many ways, the sponsorship reflects Claymark itself: proud of its heritage, committed to progress and grounded in the belief that communities succeed when they lift each other up.
