Have Your Say On Proposed CBD Car Parking Changes
NPDC is taking a fresh look at parking in New Plymouth’s CBD.
Proposals for improving on-street and off-street parking in the area have been released for public feedback.

“The CBD is where business, retail and leisure sit side-by-side, and we want to enhance that and energise it by getting the access right,” says NPDC Transportation Operations Lead John Eagles.
“We’ve had various requests for changes recently but to get the best results for the community, we’ve decided to review CBD parking as a whole rather than tackle the issues piecemeal.”
Early input from stakeholders has helped NPDC draft a series of proposed improvements, which have now been released for wider community feedback.
The proposals cover a variety of topics, from mobility parking spaces and the use of SuperGold Cards through to the hourly parking rate.
Go to npdc.govt.nz/HaveYourSay to give your feedback. Feedback closes 5pm Friday 29 May.
