Fletcher Building Asset Sale

Auckland, 11 July 2001 - Fletcher Building Chief Executive Officer, Ralph Waters today announced the sale of some non core assets of Fletcher Aluminium to Ullrich Aluminium Company.

“These assets comprise the business of Fletcher Aluminium’s Solutions Centres, which is a distributor of rolled and other aluminium products to the engineering and boat building industries in New Zealand”, said Mr Waters.

The sale of these assets has no impact on Fletcher Aluminium’s major Window and Door business which will be retained.

The sale will be of immediate effect and for a consideration of approximately $5 million.
