BP Drops Prices 4th Time In Fortnight

30 May 2002

BP has dropped its petrol and diesel prices by 2 cents a litre with immediate effect.

It is the fourth drop in two weeks of stiff competition between oil companies battling to have the lowest prices. The strong NZ dollar is enabling prices to come down.

Petrol prices at BP owned service stations will today drop to
$1.04.9 a litre for Unleaded 91, $1.09.9 for Premium Unleaded, and 63.9 cents a litre for diesel. Wholesale prices to independent BP service stations will drop at midnight tonight.

BP Managing Director Peter Griffiths said petrol and diesel prices have dropped six cents since 13 May.
