Luncheon On The Way To $100,000

July 16, 2002

A Dunedin shopper who enjoys a variety of luncheon sausages has won $100,000 in this week's Kachingo! draw.

The shopper visited Big Fresh Dunedin on Thursday July 11 spending $132.66 on a range of mainly food items and smoking products.

The three different flavours of luncheon sausage in the shopper's trolley were ham and chicken, savoury and chicken. The lucky shopper also purchased chicken schnitzel, a five pack of Bic Extra Care Razors and a number of First Choice house brand products.

It is the first time Big Fresh Dunedin has issued a Kachingo! cash prize greater than $20 - and it just happens to be the big one.

In the Kachingo! rewards programme, people who shop at partner stores and spend a qualifying amount are issued with game-lines. They also get game-lines for buying selected items that are on Kachingo! promotion.

Big Fresh, a member of the Woolworths Group, has a policy of not issuing Kachingo! game lines on tobacco or associated products. Because of that, the shopper would have received only three Kachingo! game lines for purchases worth $90.28.

One of the game-lines on the Kachingo! ticket has the winning numbers 03, 12, 14, 17, 18, 20 and the power number 06. The ticket is valid for a July 14 draw date.

Kachingo! managing director Mary Vance says this week there are 26 second prize winners who each receive $1,000. There are also 632 third prizes of $20 and more than 6,200 fourth prize winners who receive $5. The total value of the 6,935 prizes in the draw is $170,020.

To win a second prize, your ticket has to have five of the game line numbers and the power number. For third you need four game-line numbers and the power number and for fourth, three game-line numbers and the power number.

Ms Vance says it pays to shop as often as you can at a Kachingo! partner store. "The $100,000 can be won anywhere in the country - last week it was Taupo.

"Because you get Kachingo! game-lines just for doing your shopping it pays to shop where you get the cash rewards. The next most important thing to do is to check your tickets regularly - with the new weekly format, those draws come round pretty quickly," she says.

Ticket numbers can be checked at any Kachingo! partner store or online at www.kachingo.co.nz.

Woolworths stores around the country have now issued seven $100,000 weekly prize winning tickets since Kachingo! introduced the new weekly format.
