Lotteries Commission Chief Executive Resigns

The New Zealand Lotteries Commission today announced that Chief Executive Ariane Burgess has decided to leave the organisation, and is today standing down as Chief Executive Officer.

“Once the New Lotto product is launched, we will have achieved many of the things we set ourselves to do when I joined,” Mrs Burgess said. “I have taken the organisation through some significant changes, and reached a stage where I have achieved many of my goals – now I want to go on to something new.”

The Presiding Member of the Commission, Kerry Marshall, acknowledged the contribution Ariane has made through a difficult time, and wished her well for her future.

Warren Salisbury, the current Chief Financial Officer of the Commission, will take up the position of Acting Chief Executive Officer.

In the meantime, Ariane has agreed to assist Warren Salisbury and the Commission during the transition phase and to assist with the various product launches which are under way; in particular the launch of New Lotto.
