New Zealand Lodge Win
Huka Lodge has been named Top Leisure Hotel in
Australasia and fourth best leisure hotel in the world in a
prestigious UK travel magazine's readers awards.
Readers taking part in the Conde Nast Traveller magazine's 2002 fifth annual Readers' Travel Awards were asked to nominate their favourite holiday hotels according to geographical location. Huka Lodge notched up a top score of 93.71 per cent for the Australasian category - enough to make it the fourth most favourite hotel globally.
"Over the past few years, there has been a sizeable increase in travellers looking for luxury accommodation in New Zealand," says George Hickton, Chief Executive of Tourism New Zealand. "This win reflects the enormous market confidence that UK consumers, and operators, currently hold for New Zealand's range of luxury lodges."
