The NZ Business Council for Sustainable Development
(NZBCSD) has great pleasure in inviting you to the launch of
our Sustainable Development Reporting (SDR) Guide.
The business case for SDR is compelling. Stephen Tindall, NZBCSD Chairman and Founder of The Warehouse notes that "SDR has been a valuable learning process for The Warehouse. We published our first report in 2001. This led our representation on an international index that is a favorite for large US ethical index funds. As a direct result of this The Warehouse share price increased by about 5% - on a market capitalisation of $2 billion - that is value that is definitely worth having!"
The NZBCSD SDR guide is designed to show NZ businesses how to go about producing their own SDR. The launch will include presentations from Stephen Tindall and other NZBCSD business leaders who are realising the business benefits of sustainable development reporting. We will also hear from Government on why they are supporting businesses in reporting their social and environmental performance.
