Jade Customers Protected From Blaster
Christchurch, New Zealand. 15 August 2003. – Customers of Jade Software Corporation's system management service are protected from direct attacks by the Blaster computer worm, the company confirmed today.
Companies such as Fonterra and the Royal New Zealand Plunket Society Inc outsource management of their JADE systems to Jade Software Corporation, which provides a 24X7 remote housing and monitoring service.
Jade Founder and President Sir Gil Simpson said the company used their JADE Managed Firewall Service to provide immunity for these systems from direct attack from worms like the Blaster.
"One of the key features of this service is that it has put a protective 'ring' of firewall security around these customer systems, preventing direct attacks from both external and internal sources."
The
danger of attacks from internal machines on the network was
often overlooked even though the risk was potentially
greater, said Sir Gil.
