Goodman Fielder to Raise $55,000 for Daffodil Day
Goodman Fielder will aim to raise $55,000 over the next two weeks for Cancer Society of New Zealand's 2003 Daffodil Day Appeal through sales of Molenberg Original toast and sandwich bread. Daffodil Day is Friday, August 29 and is the Cancer Society's major annual fundraising event.
Last year New Zealanders raised $3.8 million dollars (equivalent to almost every Kiwi donating one dollar) on Daffodil Day to fund various services and projects the Cancer Society provides.
In the past Quality Bakers has used its Spiceberry Buns as the brand associated with this goodwill initiative. This year for every loaf of Molenberg Original toast and sandwich purchased, Quality Bakers and its retailers will make a joint donation of 20 cents to the Cancer Society.
Goodman Fielder spokesperson, Alison Pedersen says, "Goodman Fielder has been fundraising for Daffodil Day for more than a decade and enjoys uniting staff, partners, retailers and customers in the special cause. "It is one way we can give positively back into the community. Goodman Fielder is proud to be a supporter of the Cancer Society for all the outstanding work they do with cancer patients and their families."
Specially marked packs of Quality Bakers Molenberg will
be available in all supermarkets and selected convenience
stores across New Zealand from Monday, August 18.
