April 26, 2004

New Sales and Marketing Director for GSK

Rob Bree is the new Sales and Marketing Director for GlaxoSmithKline NZ Ltd.

Rob brings to GSK a strong 20-year background in sales and marketing. He has extensive experience working with a variety of major global consumer brands in both the New Zealand and Asia food and beverage industries. Rob was a judge in last year's Marketing Magazine Marketing Awards, and has been a writer/contributor to marketing publications, including Marketing Magazine and The Pitch.

Before joining GSK, he was Senior Account Director for Singleton Ogilvy & Mather NZ Ltd where he managed its consumer brands division.

He was previously Marketing Director for Restaurant Brands New Zealand Ltd, the New Zealand franchisee for KFC, Pizza Hut and Starbucks. There he oversaw a number of key strategies including the review of KFC marketing and product and the accelerated growth of Pizza Hut in preparation for an increasingly pressured, fragmented and competitive fast food market.

Rob is working across all different business units at GSK, with a main focus on the most recent private purchase medicines.

"The pharmaceutical industry has unique challenges, and I'm really looking forward to developing new opportunities at GSK," says Rob.

"GSK has a great environment. I'm working alongside high calibre people who are committed to improving New Zealanders' health through increasing access to new and innovative medicines."
