McDonald's Restaurants NZ Appoints First Female Country Manager

McDonald's Restaurants (New Zealand) Ltd has appointed Grainne Troute as New Zealand's first female country manager.

Ms. Troute started with the company twelve years ago, setting up the Human Resources department and progressively broadening her role across the organisation, before becoming McDonald's Executive Vice President.

This latest promotion sees Ms. Troute becoming New Zealand Country Manager, effective 1 July. She maintains her role as Chairperson of Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Originally from Ireland, Ms. Troute has a Diploma in Business Management with a major in Human Resources and Industrial Relations. She continued her education in New Zealand, including completing a supplementary Diploma in Human Resources through Massey University.

Departing Chief Executive Officer Alan Dunn was appointed in 1993 and in his time has grown the company from 61 restaurants to 145 restaurants.

Mr. Dunn's remarkable contribution has been recognised by McDonald's International Head Office and he has been appointed to an international post within the organisation.
