National Boat Show awards announced

National Boat Show awards announced

Cambridge Marine reaped the awards at the National Boat Show last night, taking out accolades for both best commercial site and best fibreglass boat.

Judges were impressed with the five-metre Fi-Glass Dominator, saying it was a great entry-level boat that was also good value for money.

Best aluminium boat was Auckland Marine Centre’s Southern Sports 770 H T E, perfect for recreational fishing and “overnighting”.

Two new awards were also announced for best import – Glastron Sport Bowrider which had “all the luxuries”, and for best inflatable, the Aquapro 731DJ from Andrew Fink Marine.

The National Boat Show at Mystery Creek Events Centre enjoyed sunny weather today, seeing large crowds gather for attractions such as fishing guru Bill Hohepa’s fishing tips and “Fashion on the Pier.”

The event runs until Sunday, and is open from 9.30 am daily. Details are available at www.nationalboatshow.co.nz
