Major Christchurch Interest In Private Equity Fund
A strong turnout of investors highlighted the launch of private equity investment company Pohutukawa Private Equity Ltd (Pohutukawa) in Christchurch today.
Promoted and managed by ABN AMRO Craigs Limited and Direct Capital Private Equity Limited, Pohutukawa is seeking to raise $40 million capital. It will enable investors to collectively participate in expansion capital and management buy-out opportunities in established unlisted businesses.
At today’s official launch at the Holiday Inn, investors learned how they can participate in supporting the growth of unlisted New Zealand businesses and share in their success.
Neil Craig, ABN AMRO Craigs executive chairman, said Pohutukawa would enable investors to collectively participate in expansion capital and management buy-out opportunities in established unlisted businesses.
Investors were advised that Pohutukawa had been designed to enable retail investors to participate alongside institutional and habitual investors and that a portfolio with a balance of private and public equity should provide a higher return for a similar level of risk than a portfolio with listed public equity alone.
Neither ABN AMRO Craigs nor Direct Capital nor any other person guarantees the offer or the performance of Pohutukawa.
