Kiwi International Digital Systems (KIDS) Gets New Zealand Patent
New Zealand software company, Kiwi International Digital Systems, (KIDS) has received a New Zealand patent for its world leading video graphics application system.
The unique software programme allows television broadcasters to put their own graphics on clean feeds from live coverage of sporting and other events worldwide.
Recent work includes supplying Sky Television and TV3 with all their rugby coverage for the past four years, including the All Blacks Tour of Europe and also working with BSkyB on the England rugby tour of New Zealand.
KIDS also supplied Tour de France graphics to US broadcasters Outdoor Life Network, having previously worked for them on the Americas Cup in New Zealand.
KIDS director Graham Veitch says the benefits KIDS can deliver in terms of quality graphics, revenue generation and costs savings, is creating increasing interest from some of the major sporting broadcasters around the world.
“It was essential that we apply for patents to protect the unique software property and we are very pleased we have secured our first one here in New Zealand.”
The six-staff, four-year old company is currently applying for patents in other countries.
