Hyundai safety confirmed again
New Zealand’s most popular little car, the Hyundai Getz, is also one of the safest.
New results through from the world’s most respected test centre, the Euro NCAP, show remarkable standards of safety for the South Korean little wonder.
The European-based facility gives Getz a four-star rating for front and side impact, and also for child protection.
Getz was New Zealand’s biggest-selling car in the Micro and Light sector through 2004.
Furthermore, the Hyundai Sonata sedan has achieved the highest possible safety rating in government tests in South Korea.
The latest model Sonata, released in Korea a few months ago, was awarded five-star ratings in both frontal and side impact crash tests, according to the Ministry of Construction and Transportation.
The Sonata
also scored highly in a braking performance test, going from
100km per hour to a sudden stop in 44.9 meters on a dry
surface, and 48.3
meters on a wet surface.
The expected launch date for the new Sonata in New Zealand is 1st June.
