New Business Manager for Gym at Trusts Stadium

Media Release

Date released: 21 June 2005
From: Simon Wickham, Chief Executive, The Trusts Stadium

New Business Manager for Momentum Gym confirmed at The Trusts Stadium.

Following a national search, The Trusts Stadium has confirmed Paul Evans as Business Manager of the Stadium’s health and fitness facility, Momentum.

Evans comes with a strong background in sport management and fitness centre management having been Business Development Manager, formerly Gym Manager and Marketing and Programmes Project Leader for West Wave Aquatic Centre during which time West Wave’s gym facility membership and wider facility use underwent significant growth.

“We are confident that Paul will be a strong addition to the Trust Stadium management team and an excellent leader for the team of committed staff in our fitness centre” says Chief Executive, Simon Wickham. “Momentum is a key part of the Stadium’s vision and business plans and we are looking forward to Paul leading our team of fitness professionals through a period of growth for Momentum. Momentum is a state of the art fitness centre that needs an industry leader like Paul and we are fortunate to have found someone that also knows the local market out West.”

A graduate of Auckland’s University of Technology’s Bachelor of Sport and Recreation degree programme and with a previously attained Diploma in Fitness Training (AUT) Evans brings to the table sound knowledge that has been applied in the industry.

“I’m looking forward to joining the Momentum team at The Trusts Stadium. The gym facilities they offer are some of the best in Auckland and I am keen to see that convert to membership growth in the coming months” says Evans. “It’s also a bonus to have the facility based in such a great Stadium, the two compliment each other well and have some great benefits in being in business together”.

Evans also brings wider marketing skills that will be utilised in the promotion of The Trusts Stadium and Momentum.

Evans begins at Momentum on 11 July.
