New Zealand Vodka is Toast of the Town

Close on the heals of an exclusive New York state distribution deal, 42Below Ltd, producers and exporters of multi-award winning super premium white spirits, take New Zealand’s top exporter award.

Export New Zealand named 42Below as The New Zealand Emerging Exporter of the Year 2005 at the NZTE Export Awards held in Christchurch on 11 August, 2005, in recognition of phenomenal growth since it started exporting.

“Designed with export in mind, in just two years, 42 BELOW has achieved brand recognition worldwide, is regarded as one of the best vodkas and requested in key outlets stretching form Australia, the Pacific, Singapore, Japan and the USA to the UK, Europe and Iceland“, Bob Walters, CEO, Export New Zealand, said.

42 BELOW is produced using spring water and a secret recipe – in five distinctive varients – pure vodka, passionfruit, feijoa, Manuka honey and kiwifruit and is the vodka of choice in the most prestigious bars in the world, including The Ritz Hotels in London and Paris, and Raffles in Singapore.

Auckland based, 42 BELOW is the brainchild of CEO Geoff Ross, who with a background in advertising, could see New Zealand’s image of clean and green as an ideal link for the production of a premium vodka – a product associated with cool and pristine – central to the core value of vodka ‘purity’.

42Below Ltd also produce SOUTH GIN, which recently received the prestigious ‘Grand Gold with Palm Leaves’ at the Monde Selection in Brussels – rating it the best gin in the world.

The judges said, “42 BELOW has entered the International Market using innovation and flair which has challenged the Premium Range of established brands. Above all, 42 BELOW has set out on a planned path to success and the results achieved show clearly that a business which has differentiated itself from others and has undertaken its development in a planned and structured manner will succeed against all predictions”.

Commendation: - Syft Technologies Ltd (STL)

Syft Technologies was formed in 2002 to commercialise Selected Ion Flow Tube Mass Spectrometry (SIFT-MS) technology. Syft, from Canterbury, market unique analytical instruments that can detect minute amounts of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Applications include fumigation detection, explosives and chemical warfare agent detection, contraband detection, biosecurity, industrial process, breath research and environmental monitoring markets. A major export sale to Australia Customs is worth in excess of NZ$2million.
