Happy birthday for the Herald on Sunday
The Herald on Sunday celebrates its first birthday with this weekend’s issue, having established a strong position in the Sunday newspaper market.
The latest Nielsen Media Research figures show the Herald on Sunday has not only grown the Sunday market – it is also now Auckland’s most read Sunday newspaper.
“We’ve achieved our two key objectives within the first 12 months and this success can be attributed to our commitment to the Auckland market through investment and product development,” says Herald on Sunday publisher Rick Neville.
“This time last year the Sunday market was 30 per cent smaller than it is today. Now, with 217,000 readers in Auckland and 318,000 in the north of the North Island the Herald on Sunday is Auckland’s best read Sunday.”
Mr Neville says the figures are great news for the newspaper as they confirm that the Herald on Sunday has captured a sizeable, high quality audience.
