IT recruitment company scoop 2nd place accolade at the 2005 Deloitte/Unlimited FAST 50

IT Maniacs Ltd

First time entrants ITmaniacs scooped 2nd place at last night's 2005 Deloitte/Unlimited Fast 50 Awards, which rank New Zealand's fastest growing companies based on percentage revenue growth.

Beaten only in 1st place by 42 Below Vodka, the 2nd place accolade was won by ITmaniacs based on their outstanding growth return of over 1280% in the past year.

Focusing on customer communications and providing an unparalleled 'humanised' service has seen ITmaniacs excel in their field of IT recruitment after only five years in operation.

According to ITmaniacs Managing Director, Sarah Lee the approach has worked.

"Since the inception of ITmaniacs the emphasis has been on building solid one on one relationships with all candidates and getting to know the real person behind the CV. This personalised approach means that we can far more efficiently place roles. It's a win win for both candidates and employees," she says.

Ralph Marshall, Deloitte Partner, commended ITmaniacs on their achievement.

"We need growing companies to take risks. ITmaniacs have done this extremely well and seen phenomenal results. The New Zealand economy is made up of small to medium businesses and IT Maniacs are leading by example. Their ranking of second place is an outstanding achievement for a start-up company," he s ays.

ITmaniacs core business is made up of software businesses, infrastructure companies, corporate organisations and SME's within New Zealand's technology sector.

The small dynamic team of ten have certainly made their mark in the competitive IT recruitment industry. The company's maverick attitude and use of unique branding and attention grabbing antics have played a large part in their success.

"We have adopted a fun and quirky attitude to both marketing and our style of work. I encourage my staff to take risks and use their sense of humour to cut through to both employers and candidates. This has played a vital role in our success," says Sarah Lee.

When asked why ITmaniacs stands out in the industry, Marketing Manager Ainslie Laverty says its their different approach to partnering quality IT people with excellent businesses throughout New Zealand.

"We have a very unique but highly successful methodology that has earned us not just a great reputation, but almost a fanatical appreciation in the technology market from clients to candidates alike. Simply put, we've got a recipe that works," she says.

Other recent initiatives have seen ITmaniacs teaming up with Immigration New Zealand to tackle the shortage of skilled and specialist IT people in New Zealand. Together they piloted a "By Appointment" event held in San Francisco. A first of its kind, it provided the opportunity for people in the IT industry to investigate New Zealand as a career and lifestyle destination. The project is already proving hugely successful, with American candidates lining up for the chance to make the move and a demand of New Zealand employers waiting to fill technology based roles.
