Argent Secures Intercell In Guinea Conakry

Auckland, 5 June 2006 – New Zealand technology and telecommunications solutions company, Argent Networks announced today that it has secured a contract with Intercell in Guinea Conakry, West Africa.

With a population of 9.4 million, Intercell is one of Guinea Conakry’s major telecommunications providers. Guinea Conakry, a former French colony has a rapidly developing telecommunications infrastructure with five mobile phones for every land line. Argent Networks will supply Intercell with its latest ArgentEclipse® billing and CRM solution which has also been specifically converted to the French language.

“Guinea Conakry is a developing market and the ArgentEclipse® solution provides Intercell with the ability to get the latest and most efficient solution in both customer care as well as back office systems – Intercell will leapfrog from Third World to First World with the adoption of Argent’s technology,” says Jones.

Jones says ArgentEclipse® is based on a Java application platform, and offers service providers like Intercell a completely streamlined and service-focused approach to postpaid billing, customer care and mediation.

Latif Taleb-Mazeh, CEO of Intercell says that Argent’s solution beat off several other competitors because it provided an easy way to add value to the carrier’s network and significant savings by being efficient, reliable and extensible to any platform or content.
