Severe Weather Causes Cancellations and Disruptions to Intercity Coachline Services
Ice, snow, wind and road surface flooding in
the central North Island has resulted in InterCity not being
able to complete many scheduled services.
Some services departing from Tauranga, Hastings, Taupo, Rotorua, Gisborne, Auckland and Wellington have either been fully or partially cancelled, or transferred to an alternative InterCity scheduled service.
InterCity estimates the road closures will affect between 350 – 400 passengers scheduled to travel today.
Passengers booked to travel on any InterCity or Newmans services passing through the central North Island should ring InterCity on Auckland (09) 623 1503 or Wellington (04) 385 0520 to confirm their travel arrangements.
Any passengers affected by cancelled services will be offered a full refund or be able to rebook for alternative travel dates.
InterCity apologises for any inconvenience caused by the road closures and will have regular services up and running as soon as roads are safe for travel.
