Hays celebrates 30 years by supporting charity United Way

Specialist recruiter Hays will celebrate its 30th year of operation in Australasia by supporting United Way – an independent volunteer-based charity that provides funding assistance, volunteer time and necessary skills to local human welfare charities.

Each New Zealand Hays office, located in Auckland, Christchurch, South Auckland and Wellington, will fundraise for the charity.

“Finding people jobs is an important task in society, that carries with it duties of social responsibility,” said Jason Walker, General Manager of Hays New Zealand. “Our support of United Way is a key component of our anniversary celebrations and will provide a donation for United Way to distribute.

“We are committed to our fundraising target and will hold various fundraising events in the local community involving local clients over the next three months,” he said.

“United Way New Zealand is looking forward to a positive partnership with Hays,” said Don Oliver, Chief Executive of United Way New Zealand. “Our goal is to make a difference in peoples lives and the communities in which they live. We currently do this by funding approximately 180 human welfare charities throughout New Zealand. The support of Hays will enable us to make a greater impact where it is most needed.”

Hays has created a dedicated section of the website detailing a variety of 30-related themes, such as trends in the recruitment market over the last 30 years, the future direction of recruitment and a guestbook where people can share stories of their job 30 years ago in 1976.
