Criterion Confident of Lift-Off with Concorde

Furniture Pioneer launches new Range of Commercial Furniture

Auckland, 13 November 2006: New Zealand home, entertainment and office furniture leader, Criterion Group, has taken the covers off Concorde, its new commercial office range.

The long established Australasian market leader in flat panel furniture is confident that with Concorde it will unlock the future for people at work.

Chief Executive, Laurie Margrain, says Criterion’s design team spent months on extensive research and development to “create the best environment possible to meet the demands of the modern office worker. We set out to make work a pleasurable experience, creating work spaces that fit any office requirement, from open-plan cluster configurations through to fully-featured executive offices,” he says.

“But more than just creating the right work environment Concorde showcases everything that is good about the Criterion manufacturing process where we use only renewable resources in the form of reconstituted radiate pine which involve no ozone-depleting processes,” says Mr Margrain. “So not only is Concorde at the leading edge in state-of-the-art design and comfort, it is New Zealand made and very much in harmony with the environmental issues that concern all of us today, not just in the office, but also at home and at play.”

The ergonomic design incorporates sleek curves, wrap around desktops and Comfort Edges, ensuring unrivalled comfort whilst sitting at a desk. Combined with the Screen Pack accessories function, which includes utility tray, penholder, phone tray, file holder and A4 paper tray, the range helps keep essentials handy and desk clutter at bay.

The Concorde range follows Criterion’s long-established success in the commercial space with the flagship Workzone, Verve and Rap ranges where providing furniture of lasting quality, built to the most exacting standards, is never compromised.

According to Criterion Marketing Manager Chris Pickering, the Concorde range “is in a league of its own, ahead of other similar commercial furniture available on the market and provides users with unmatched comfort and ease in the workplace, while still maintaining Criterions standard of realistic, competitive pricing.”

Other key features that Concorde offers include height adjustable desks and book dividers, while the silver metal legs and light maple tops keep the look light and open.

Engineered to last, Concorde includes quality features such as work surface laminates up to 300% thicker than alternative finishes, ensuring long life. Supported by ISO 9001 and the Enviro Mark NZ Gold Standard, the range also comes with Criterion’s 5-year warranty.

Criterion has been providing a range of panel furniture for New Zealand, Australia, the USA and other foreign markets for almost 40 years. It has invested more than $14 million over the last five years in new plant and technology in East Tamaki, to create one of the most automated and efficient manufacturing sites in Australasia.

Criterion researches and develops furniture designs to meet the changing needs of consumers in New Zealand and overseas markets and has built a strong reputation within the industry for its contemporary designs, functionality and affordability.

The new range is available nationwide through selected leading office furniture retailers. Criterion expects to release the Concorde range into Australia before Christmas.
