New Political Editor For 3 News
Duncan Garner has been appointed as 3 News’ new Political Editor, effective from early January.
Garner, who has been a 3 News political reporter for the past four years, will take over the role from Stephen Parker, who has decided to take a break from political reporting.
Mark Jennings, Director of 3 News and Current Affairs, said, "Stephen has now done three stints in the Gallery, first for Radio New Zealand, then as political reporter for 3 News and the last four as our Political Editor.
“He has now decided it is time for a change of scenery. Stephen is a skilled reporter and one of his first major assignments in the New Year will be to cover the America’s Cup regatta in Valencia."
Jennings also says that Duncan Garner’s experience and success as a political reporter will be invaluable to 3 News.
"Duncan Garner is one of New Zealand's best reporters. In the last few years he has broken many of the big political stories and will bring plenty of experience and expertise to his new role."
Wellington based 3 News reporter, Scott Campbell, will move from general reporting to fill the vacancy in the Press Gallery.
