A Healthy Appetite For Healthy Food Guide

New Zealand’s Fastest Growing Magazine Over Last Two Years

Healthy consumers are putting their support where their mouth is, illustrated by rocketing readership and circulation figures for Healthy Food Guide.

In a magazine climate where most titles are experiencing a downturn in figures, Healthy Food Guide is bucking the trend, most likely in response to the ever-increasing column inches on obesity, Body Mass Index of catwalk models, lunchboxes for children and guidelines on what constitutes a healthy diet, on a daily basis across all newspapers.

Editor, Niki Bezzant comments, “Our readers are crying out for practical and accurate advice, recipes and information to make their food shopping and meal preparation easy and informed. Working with New Zealand’s finest nutrition experts has given us a professional edge and it is great to receive letters from readers, thrilled to discover down-to-earth and accurate advice on healthy eating.”

Published by an independent publishing company, Healthy Food Media Limited, Healthy Food Guide has experienced a substantial growth in readership figures from 103,000 to 142,000 [1] throughout 2006.

The magazine, in its second year of production, has also experienced a very healthy 68% increase in circulation figures to 33,935 [2] at 31 December 2006, up from 20,212 the previous year.

Kim Mundell, Publisher for Healthy Food Media says, “The dramatic rise in sales figures reflects the enthusiastic response we have had from our readers. We frequently receive positive feedback across all age groups on all aspects of the magazine, which highlights to us the necessity for practical, trustworthy information on healthy eating in an otherwise complicated and cluttered arena.”
