It's Official - TVNZ's Website is Number One
TVNZ's website, tvnz.co.nz, has been judged as the number one website among New Zealand internet users in the category of 'Entertainment and Television'.
The annual Hitwise Online Performance Awards, held in Auckland last night, acknowledge the number one websites in over 160 industry categories, based on the market share of visits a website has received throughout 2006. Hitwise reports on the anonymous online usage and search behaviour of more than half a million New Zealand internet users - the largest online sample of its kind.
"The award is a fantastic acknowledgement of our strong and growing online presence, and is encouraging as we prepare to launch our new online service TVNZ ondemand", says John Ferguson, TVNZ's Interactive Production Manager.
TVNZ ondemand, due to launch next month, will offer New Zealanders the opportunity to view the best of local and international programming on the internet.
