Are you the ultimate Casanova? Take the Langham oyster test

(Auckland, 1 March 2007) --- Casanova is said to have eaten 50 for breakfast each morning, the Romans have been indulging in them since the second century because of their aphrodisiac qualities and Abraham Lincoln used to throw parties where nothing but oysters were served.

Oysters have long been acknowledged as one of the most evocative foods and with today marking the launch of the 2007 Bluff Oyster season the Langham plans to investigate the supposed aphrodisiac qualities of the humble oyster.

Any guest who purchases Bluff Oysters at the Langham this season will be given the opportunity to complete a short ‘Casanova’ quiz which will enter them in the draw to win a romantic Five Star Fling weekend.

Oyster connoisseurs can choose from four different ways to savour this national delicacy:
- Natural served with fresh lemon and crisp bread croutons
- Tempura on Wakame seaweed salad with sesame dipping sauce
- Kilpatrick; sautéed onion and honey cured bacon steeped in Worcestershire sauce
- Dressed in aged balsamic on a bed of buffalo mozzarella and rocket leaves

Bluff Oysters are available as a half dozen for $25.00 or a dozen $45.00 and are available at all four Langham restaurants and bars: Partingtons, The Winery, SBF Brasserie and SPE Bar and Restaurant.
