Simpl NZ elects new International Chairman

Simpl NZ elects new International Chairman

Simpl New Zealand Ltd, which provides strategic consulting, project management, customer interaction management and software development solutions to customers in New Zealand and across the globe, elected Graham Norton-Standen as Chairman on April 19, 2007.

A former CEO of Gartner International, London-based Norton-Standen has been a Simpl board member since January 2007. Simpl brought him on board as part of its aggressive growth strategy which includes expanding its global footprint.

Norton-Standen has a long-standing reputation for leading major change in some of the largest information technology, financial institutions and manufacturing companies in the world.

Prior to joining Gartner, where he was responsible for all of Gartner’s business outside the United States, Norton-Standen was President of the Strategic Growth Markets Group of Electronic Data Systems (EDS), responsible for 13 countries throughout Europe, the Middle East & Africa, and where he managed the transformation of a loss making unit into one of the most successful and fastest growing businesses for the company.

In addition to his role at Simpl, which is expected to bring him to New Zealand on a regular basis, Norton-Standen is also the Chairman and CEO of Applied Intelligence Group (AIG), a consulting firm focused on providing brokering, information technology, business transformation and structured investment services covering Europe, North America and Asia Pacific. His company works closely with both blue chip corporate clients and the SME community on an international basis, and his customers have included British Telecom, Hewlett Packard, Cable & Wireless, Deutsche Bank, Reuters, P&O, ING & other financial and business organisations. He is also on the Corporate Advisory Board of Unysis.

Simpl Founder and CEO Bennett Medary says he is very excited by Norton-Standen's appointment.

“We are extremely pleased to have Graham join our company,” says Mr Medary. “His reputation as a highly results-driven and motivational international chairman, together with his belief that New Zealand should view its location as an opportunity, fits perfectly with the direction we are heading as a company.”

Graham says he joined Simpl for its ability to leverage its passion and people into its performance and customer relationships, which he came across in London as Simpl and AIG both have relationships with British Telecom.

“Simpl can truly demonstrate that they can apply their unique character, expertise and location as opportunities for growth and success.”

Simpl is based in Auckland, with offices in Wellington, Melbourne and London.

Customers include NZ telcos, central and local government, Fonterra, Transpower, District Health Boards, as well as British Telecom, Telstra Business Australia, Shell and Microsoft worldwide.
