Universal Homes Opens a Window on Two Worlds

Universal Homes Opens a Window on Two Worlds

Even before construction began, Universal Homes' Pine Valley estate was attracting keen buyers. The company's Sales and Marketing Manager, Mike Pearce attributes this to the estate's unique location just north of Albany, bordered by countryside on one hand and city amenities on the other.

"With developments like Pine Valley, the need to opt for somewhere near town or country is a thing of the past," he explains. "Our homes here are very close to the countryside, but they're also on the doorstep of Albany, which is fast becoming one of the best shopping prospects in Auckland.

"Obviously, home-hunters have recognised the advantages of this location, because these homes are selling very well indeed."

In fact, more than half the houses, including the show home, already have owners. The show home was bought by an investor who will lease it back to Universal for the next twelve months. It is almost completed, and will be open to the public this month.

Pine Valley purchasers can choose between buying a section and building a Universal home of their own design, or buying a complete house and land package. Sections are priced from $280,000, and home packages are in the $600,000s. But, warns Mike Pearce, sales are so good on both options that buyers should act quickly. From the original total of 41 properties, just nine design-and-build and ten house-and-land packages are still available.

All sites are elevated and north facing, with views over the Oteha Valley. Land sizes are between 500 and 546 square metres. The first three homes are now under construction, and will be finished shortly before Christmas.

Universal's design-and-build homes at Pine Valley are free-standing, with three or four bedrooms and two-car garaging. There are one- and two-storey designs, and a range of styles. All will be finished to a very high standard and ready for immediate occupation. Landscaping, fencing, driveways, carpets and appliances are included in the cost.
