Hastings business secures 3.5GHz wireless licences.
Hastings based company “Bizness Connect” successfully won the 3.5GHz radio spectrum licences for Hastings, Central HawkesBay, Masterton, Tararua, Carterton and South Wairarapa.
They will be the only company who can provide high speed wireless broadband through their licensed wireless frequencies using the WiMAX technology.
WiMAX is a standards based wireless technology that can be transmitted through the 3.5GHz radio frequencies, it delivers better quality broadband over a much longer distance than existing wireless services, WiMAX has the capability to support heavier traffic loads and multiple users without slowing down speed or quality and does not require line of sight to provide wireless broadband, Wimax also operates independently of fixed-line internet and phone services.
