EMA salutes passing of business champions
The president of the Employers & Manufacturers Association (Northern) Colin Martin today expressed regret at the passing of two of Auckland's most influential and important business leaders, Sir James Fletcher and Mr Nick Nobilo.
"Not only were Sir James and Nick great business pioneers in their own industries of construction and manufacturing, and winemaking respectively, they both laid foundations for the wider New Zealand business community," Mr Martin said.
"These men developed businesses that have lasted the distance.
"Sir James and Nick were from very different backgrounds but they both demonstrated very similar attributes of leadership, drive and commitment to success.
"Both leaders set enduring standards for integrity and of business service to the New Zealand community which successive business people have sought to emulate and build upon."
