ANDOVER, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 5, 2007--DecoTurf, the most recognized tennis court surface in the world, announced that their full cushioned tennis surface DecoTurf II, has been selected for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG), and the International Tennis Federation (ITF) ratified the choice of DecoTurf II as the tennis court surface. Tennis practice sessions and match play will take place on seventeen DecoTurf courts at the Beijing Olympic Tennis Centre from August 10 through August 17, 2008. A total of one hundred and seventy-two men and women will compete for medals in four events: Men's Singles, Women's Singles, Women's Doubles and Men's Doubles.

DecoTurf's multi-layer cushion tennis surface has been selected for use at the world's most prestigious events including the US Open since 1978, the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, Davis Cup and Fed Cup matches, and at many of the finest facilities around the world. All DecoTurf courts have been classified by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) in each of the three speed of play categories: slow, medium/medium fast and fast. DecoTurf has authorized applicators around the globe that are trained to install the surface that is known for its consistent speed of play and true ball bounce, durability, low maintenance, vibrant long lasting colors, and overall customer value.
