Garuda Close To Announcing GSA In New Zealand

Media release – Garuda Indonesia – October 16 2007

Garuda Close To Announcing GSA In New Zealand

Garuda Indonesiawill appoint a General Sales Agent to act on their behalf in the New Zealandmarket. A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed with the successful bidder and contracts are in the process of being finalized.

Travel agents are encouraged to continue ticketing through BSP as they have been doing successfully for the past three months.

In order to continue to meet the needs of the public during this transition period, the Garuda office in Aucklandwill remain open to the public with limited staff.

Ms Keshmira Elavia, who is NSW Ticket Office and Reservations Supervisor and boasts many years experience with Garuda Indonesia, will oversee operations and continue to deal with public enquiries until the GSA contract commences.

The airline’s Regional Manager, Southwest Pacific, Mr. Suranto Yitnopawiro has, in the meantime, assumed responsibility for administration of the Aucklandoffice and is expected to announce full details of the GSA within the next few weeks.

“Until then,” Mr. Suranto says “telephone enquiries can be directed to +64 9 366 1862 and emails to kelavia@garuda.co.nz. However, resources are limited so we very much appreciate the patience and understanding of the public, and the industry, in the short term.”
